Do you know your car’s limits? Really? It will surprise you to see just how far you can push it and give you the edge you need to survive that everyday commute with those “other drivers”.

Take the class if you want to have fun spinning your car out of control and more importantly, learning to bring it back into control! Take the class if you want to learn accident avoidance!

If you have a young driver in the family, be sure to sign them up with you so that they can learn how to be a better driver in a safe environment! This is a very comfortable experience for everyone, no matter what your experience level may be.

Your lead instructor is Chicago area BMW veteran Randy Everson. Randy was part of the original team that designed the BMW Club Schools many years ago.

WHAT TO EXPECT

  • Plan to arrive at 8:30 am to check in. Be sure to remove ALL loose items from your car at home or track side. Teaching session begins at 9:00 am sharp.
  • The day consists of a combination of classroom sessions and driving exercises. These are designed to teach participants to understand some of the physics of driving and to teach participants how to respond in critical situations.

OVERVIEW OF EXERCISES

Braking exercise will let you feel your ABS brakes and know when and how to engage them and how to respond to them. You will learn to slow or stop your car safely and accurately. This will also wake you up in the morning.

Skid pad will help you learn throttle control. This exercise will allow the car to accelerate and decelerate, forcing the driver to correct with appropriate amounts of throttle input. This exercise is also very fun.

Slalom exercise gives you the opportunity to feel the side-to-side weight transfer in your car. This is especially important when you are cornering or maneuvering obstacles in traffic.

Lunch will be provided to stop you from passing out.

P-Curve will help you learn how to get your car under control when it starts to slide. You will begin to develop proper correction techniques that will keep you safe and out of the ditch!

BSSP is a combination of all the exercises at the end of the day. Past participants report that this is the most fun of the day.

Instructors will be with you throughout the day. They will conduct the important classroom sessions and guide you during the exercises.

Participation in this event will not hurt your car nor will it void any warranty or insurance you have on your car.

Why Autocross??

..."I consider (autocross) to be, arguably, the best place to learn car control"...

T.C. Kline, a well-known driver and car builder with over 20 years of autocrossing and road racing (both club and pro) experience.

..."The skills you learn and practice here; smooth transitions, enhanced braking, and skid correction, will have an immediate impact on improving the safety and skill of your street driving. Solo II is an excellent way to teach car control to young drivers in a safe environment"...
